My three-night honeymoon stay at Jinya was nothing short of magical. Each morning and evening, we were treated to fine dining that were the most delicious foods I've ever tasted. The warmth and hospitality of the staff at Jinya were heartwarming. Their attention to detail was remarkable – they remembered and incorporated the little things we mentioned, enhancing our stay immeasurably. Looking for a place to walk around, they lent us bicycles to visit a park that was hard to reach on foot. We really enjoyed it and were even able to see Mount Fuji from a distance. An unforgettable touch was the celebratory message for our honeymoon delicately written on our dinner plate, a gesture that deeply moved us. Both the private and public onsens were awesome. I loved walking around their beautiful garden and watching the cute koi fish. Having high expectations for a Ryokan, Jinya not only met but exceeded them in every way, leaving us profoundly touched. Their efforts to communicate with us, despite language barriers, ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for international guests. I wholeheartedly recommend Jinya, deserving of far more than a mere 5-star rating. This is a place that will linger in my heart and memories. P.S. Discovering that Hayao Miyazaki, the legendary animator, spent part of his childhood here added a layer of enchantment to our stay. Spotting a tree featured in 'My Neighbor Totoro' and seeing Miyazaki's signatures was a delightful bonus to our magical stay.

A simply sublime experience. I stayed solo in the “Susumushi” room with indoor private cypress bath and also enjoyed the outdoor bath (rotemboro) after hours. The room itself was as big as an entire apartment (!) and would be an amazing experience to share with friends and family. Complimentary fully stocked refrigerator is a very nice touch, and the amenities in the bathing and sleeping rooms were all wonderful. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were also an incredible treat. The staff are very welcoming, in both Japanese and English. I will be recommending Jinya to friends in search of a transportive onsen ryokan experience that is easy to access from Tokyo, and would love to return with my family one day as well.

Today we brought our friends visiting from Vancouver to Jinya for a day trip to have lunch and enjoy Onsen. We have a very nice lunch in the hotel. It’s a very nice dining experience at Jinya. Each dish prepared is a piece of art and the taste was very delicious. Everyone was impressed by the choice of ingredients, method of preparing the dishes and way of presenting the dishes. It’s both visually and gastronomically enjoyable experience to dine at Jinya’s restaurant. We are planning for a stay over time when visiting this place. Highly recommend.

Went here to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. They were able to find the same baker to make the wedding cake we had on our wedding. The service went above and beyond to help us retrieve our luggage that we mistakenly sent on the incorrect date. To top it off, Kato-san our wedding coordinator met with us, and we were happy. He had the shuttle personally take us back to Tokyo. Perfect.

Perfection. So many good thugs to describe not sure where to start. I absolutely recommend that you include breakfast and kaiseiki dinner in your package. While the small town is walkable the good is out if this world! It’s not cheap as such type of meal goes but for a kaiseiki it’s very reasonable. And delicious. I’m not a hotel breakfast person because I don’t enjoy buffet and even those with made to order aren’t usually great But here at Tsurumaki Onsen, it feels complete custom and you can say its also most a mini kaiseiki The other thing I personally love is the outdoor onsen. This place has two onsen and most will usually go to the main one. The best one is the small outdoor one where you walk just 30m up the slope. The best feeling is to do this during fall or winter and the clear day. Look up the night sky and you’re surround by all the stars alone…it’s just an awesome moment While Japanese are famous for their hospitality this place manage to standout nonetheless. Lastly this is also the area where the iconic Hayao Miyazaki grew up. And on premise you can find the camphor tree which inspired the same tree in Totoro
